undreds of children and their families took on the Triathlon Trust's run-bike challenge at the British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup on Saturday 2nd September, giving them a taste of the jelly legs that come with duathlon!
The challenge aimed to show children and families how fun and accessible being active can be, with each participant receiving a certificate and information about local opportunities to get involved in triathlon through Go Tri - a fun way to access triathlon for the first time, at events specially designed for total beginners.
Mixed Relay is set to feature for the first time at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and five Olympians were part of the action in Nottingham at this inaugural event. Leeds 1 won in front of a packed crown on the Victoria Embankment. Relive the Accenture British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup here.
The Triathlon Trust also attended the Nottingham Riverside Festival earlier this August ahead of the Mixed Relay Cup to celebrate the event coming to the city and encourage children and families to give triathlon a 'tri'!
