Over 1,000 children get active with triathlon in Hertfordshire school delivery program

Published:

The Foundation's school program has been busy delivering active-days to over 1,000 children in July.

A selection of schools in Hertfordshire have been experiencing the engaging sport of triathlon. Primary and Secondary school children in Hitchin, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Watford have arrived in school to find the Foundation's delivery team have set-up a triathlon (swim-bike-run) or duathlon (run-bike-run) event in their school grounds.

With the Foundation's own bikes available, (thanks to CyclesUK for the maintenance and storage) they have received expert coaching in transition skills as well as fun activities to practice them, before taking on the challenge of a mini-race.

For the majority of the children, this has been their first experience of triathlon.........and they can't seem to get enough of it!!

With the summer holidays just around the corner, you can expect to see more children being 'active' in the coming months.
