Take on the Katie's Legacy Everesting Challenge

Make Saturday 14th September a day to remember and join our Katie's Legacy Everesting Challenge!

Join us at Burrington Combe or organise your own DIY Everesting Challenge at a peak near you.

All money raised will go to the Katie's Legacy Fund, managed by the Triathlon Trust, providing fun, free and fully inclusive opportunities for children of all abilities to give triathlon a 'tri'.

Thousands of children have already had the opportunity to take part in a Katie's Legacy mini-triathlon, giving them increased confidence in their own ability, and inspiring them to lead more active lifestyles.

Join us for a Katie's Legacy fundraising day on Sunday 14th September and together, we can change even more young lives through triathlon!

About Katie's Legacy

Katie Henderson, an accomplished triathlete and record-breaking swimmer, tragically lost her life in 2015 in an accident on her way to Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire.

Katie’s family and friends set up a fund in memory of Katie to give the next generation the opportunity to experience the sport she loved so much.

Katie’s family, friends and supporters volunteer at the triathlon events, which have taken place annually in Reading and Bristol since 2016, to ensure every child is cheered and high-fived around the course as they become first-time triathletes.

What is an Everesting Challenge?

The idea is to cycle the vertical height of Mount Everest in one day, by riding repeatedly up (and down) the same climb, that's 8,848m of vertical ascent...or in the case of the hill we've chosen - Burrington Combe - 38 times up (and down) it, completing a total distance of 306km. Take it on solo or get together a team relay.

Sounds great, how do I join?

If you'd like to join a few of us taking on Burrington Combe on September 14th, you can find out more by clicking here or contact us at contact@triathlontrust.org

If you fancy a DIY Everesting Challenge, it's simple; choose your hill and then tell us what you're planning - drop us a line at contact@triathlontrust.org

All we ask is that you raise money as much money as you can for Katie's Legacy, there's no minimum fundraising target. We'll be on hand with fundraising advice and tips. You can set up an online fundraising page for this event quickly and easily - click here to start.

Not for me, but how else can I support?

If an Everesting challenge isn't up your street, why not support one of the incredible people putting themselves through incredible things by sponsoring them?

Katie's family and friends have set up a JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/britishtriathlonfoundationtrust

And our very own Mike Jubb, CEO of the Triathlon Trust, is fundraising at: https://justgiving.com/fundraising/mjeverestchallenge
