The John Charles Stadium in Leeds played host to the first ever Brownlee Foundation minitri event at the start of October.
The Olympic and Commonwealth champions teamed up with Leeds Active Schools, HUUB, Morrisons and ourselves to deliver an inspiring day of triathlon to 1,200 primary school children from the Leeds area.
The brothers have launched their own foundation to enable their sporting success to inspire others to lead active lifestyles.... a message that resonates with the vision of the Trust.
In a break from their daily swim, bike and run training, there was no rest for Alistair and Jonny as they both got stuck in with ensuring the day was a huge success.
Whether it was starting the kids in the pool, setting them off on bikes, handing out medals, and the all important autographs and photos afterwards, it was a busy day for the two superstars of World triathlon.
Volunteers for the day were sourced from local young leaders in secondary schools and students from Leed's Universities, who had the experience of being able to chat with the brothers and grab a quick photo to remind themselves of an amazing day in the Leeds sunshine.
This event formed a fitting end to the 2014 season for the Trust......roll-on 2015!!
