Join us as an Event Volunteer and you'll help deliver a fun-filled day that will give children the chance to give triathlon a 'tri' and inspire them to get more active!
A variety of roles are available and no experience is necessary - just energy, enthusiasm and a smile! You’ll work alongside our friendly, experienced team and a variety of volunteers from the local community, local businesses, colleges and sports clubs. Our opportunities are suitable for volunteers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, sporty and non-sporty alike!
Our events are free for children to take part in and are aimed at 7-13 year olds. They are suitable for children of all abilities, including those that cannot swim or ride a bike, and the Triathlon Trust provides all the equipment including bikes, helmets, scooters and swim aids. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and delivery of safe, fun, inclusive and inspiring events.
We provide all our volunteers with a t-shirt to keep, a packed lunch and refreshments. Volunteering at our events is a fun, active, and rewarding experience. You'll be helping bring a fun, positive experience of sport to children and inspiring them to lead more active and healthy lifestyles. And you'll enjoy working as part of our friendly team and meeting new people!
Our volunteers help to ensure our events run smoothly and safely, and that every child goes home with a smile on their face. On the morning of the event you'll receive a full briefing and there are a variety of roles available, working both indoors and outdoors. They differ from event to event but include some of the following:
Welcome and registration
Transition area team
Finish line - handing out medals & water
Volunteering as a group.. you can volunteer with a group of friends, work colleagues, or sports club, it’s a great way to get to know people better and work as a team.
Volunteering as an individual.. alternatively, why not come and join our small, friendly team and meet some new people!
Young Leaders.. Our events provide a perfect opportunity for Young Leaders to learn new skills, demonstrate leadership skills and gain experience in delivering events. We are experienced at working with Young Leaders from local schools and colleges and our opportunities are suitable for young people of all abilities. If you are school, college or apprenticeship scheme looking to support one of our events, or if you are a Young Leader interested in volunteering with us, we'd love to hear from you!
